Documentation plays a vital and often overlooked role in organizational efficiency and culture. Often we find a few good tools in place in an organization, which eventually grow overused, inefficient, and ineffective. By adopting a few more tools into our workflow, we can play to the strengths of all of them, producing a strong documentation culture that enables vast improvements across the organization. In this talk I share some of my observations and experiences from building documentation cultures, as well as some open source tools I’ve personally developed that may be of use to others.
This talk is currently in draft form, but is a complete draft. First delivered at beCamp in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
